Inspirational Feature Film Launches Nationwide Online Competition for...



Angel City Pictures, producers of The 5th Quarter starring Aidan Quinn, Andie MacDowell and Ryan Merriman have announced that they are in search of new songs written by emerging artists to be used in the film and on the film'ss soundtrack album. Submissions are currently being accepted on the film'ss website: http://music.the5thquartermovie.com in various musical genres including Alternative, Country, Rap/Hip-Hop, Rock, and Adult Contemporary.



The 5th Quarter, written and directed by Rick Bieber, wrapped principal photography last week in Winston-Salem, NC. The film tells the true story of Jon Abbate, who driven by the tragic and fatal car crash that took the life of his fifteen year old brother Luke, and wearing Luke'ss number 5 jersey, led the Wake Forest Demon Deacons to the most successful football season in school history and an appearance in the 2006 Orange Bowl. However, this is far more than a conventional sports story. It'ss a story of the triumph of the human spirit and a story of intersecting lives and personal drama



This is simply one of the most moving and dramatic true-life, sports-related stories I had ever heard, said Rick Bieber. It begins with a loving, American family experiencing what is our worst nightmare - the sudden and tragic loss of a child - and ends with a family, a team, a school, and an entire community coming together to achieve much more than what was ever expected. It'ss a story about turning a horrific event into a positive force for change. From the ashes of Luke'ss tragic death comes a power which bounds together a team, a school and a community. It'ss a very recent and inspirational story which lends itself to contemporary music written by young, emerging songwriters. We'sre excited by the prospect of introducing new and innovative musical talent to our film audience.
