JB Entertainment Students Have Huge Success At IMTA

Many of Austin'ss most talented and beautiful models, actors and dancers had amazing success at IMTA Los Angeles this January. Twenty three students from JB Entertainment, Austin'ss top acting and modeling school, traveled to Los Angeles January 5-11, 2009 to compete in the entertainment industries most prestigious event to showcase their talents in front of hundreds of agents, managers, casting directors and record labels from all over the globe.

Each student spent the last six months with JB Entertainment'ss coaches to prepare them for the IMTA competition and the entertainment industry in general.

What makes IMTA so special is that each person that attends is highly selected and trained, unlike many of the other events out there, says Meghan Jones, JB Entertainment'ss Director.

The event started with a team dance competition where two dancer'ss from JB Entertainment stole the show when Anthony Phillips and Bernard Vignarath performed a hip hop/break dancing performance that the crowd went crazy over. The week only got better as each student performed in front of industry VIP'ss. JB Entertainment staff knew the students were doing well when agents and managers started offering contracts before the event was even over.

After all the competitions ended their was the awards show where JB Entertainment students received an overwhelming number of awards. These awards were given to the top performers in each event. It seemed like every time they gave out an award JB Entertainment had someone in the running, while winning many. Some notable winners were Lawayne Sneed, John Chriss, Elizabeth Nodelman, Holly Moss, Lamont Dunlap, Cindy Henderson, Stephanie Jagst, Aaron Reyes, Jessica Cruz, sisters Hannah and Ruth Young, and Brianna Candelas. Out of the twenty three students fourteen won awards as well as Anthony Phillips and Bernard Vignarath who finished in the top five for individual dance and won first place for team dance.

The next day was callback day where each performer received a list of agents and managers who are interested in meeting with them for representation. This is always a nervous time for everyone, just hoping that they receive callbacks from agents and managers, comments Meghan. Luckily all twenty three people received callbacks with the top honor going to Hannah Young who received an astonishing forty callbacks! I can'st believe it, we have agents and managers actually fighting over my girls, says Viviana, Hannah and Ruth'ss mother.

Less than two weeks after the IMTA event fourteen of JB Entertainment students now have contract offers and owner Justin Brown is hopeful he will be able to help every person negotiate a contract by month'ss end. Actor James Glennon may even have the opportunity for a walk on role on one of Disney'ss top television shows.

All in all it was a huge success. Each person who went, came back excited, with new opportunities and ready to start the next chapter of their career.

The next IMTA will take place in New York July 11-18. Auditions in Austin are set to be held Saturday, January 24, 2009 at the JB Entertainment studio. To schedule your audition time call 512-961-6152 ext. 9.
