Potrero Post Hits the Ground Running



April 25, 2005 -- San Francisco's newest post-production audio facility has opened with fireworks. Within their first two-months of operation, they scored big with director Eric Escobar's film, "One Weekend A Month" taking a jury prize in short-filmmaking from the Sundance Film Festival for which they engineered all of the audio. The soundtrack featured work by Emily Saliers ( Indigo Girls) and starred Renee O'Connor (Gabriella of Xena-Warrior Princess TV show). Buddy "Budz" Saleman was in charge of sound design and long-time affiliate Dana Jae of DCJ Productions was the location sound mixer and engineered the final mix.



Potrero Post is a fully functional audio post-production facility

boasting the most modern technology. At the ready is a Digidesign ICON console running the pro tools HD3 system with a hefty helping of the most widely used plug-ins in the industry.



Also in the studio this month are local filmmakers Jean-Paul Bonjour, Eiran Shalev, and Anjan Lall all of for whom Potrero Post is doing the sound design and for two of whom Potrero Post is composing the music score.



In the music world

"Potrero Pete" Deutcher has just finshed tracking Powerslave.com's ( The voice of California's underground Metal and Rock ) featured band Chronic Narcosis. Pete and the band were able to hammer out 11 songs within two days and are now onto mixing the album. According to Johann Zavaleta of Chronic Narcosis "Potrero Pete's the man. I think people should really go see what's up with Potrero Pete if they really want to record. He's a metal "masta."



"Potrero Pete" has also recently finished mixing the new demo by East Bay's Sever. Sever will be re-entering the studio in the coming months to record new songs for their new EP.



Engineer Lauren Tabak was in the studio this month with Quarterhorse from Tuscon, AZ who recorded 12 new tracks that will mastered by John Golden into a 5 song EP and released in June.
