May 2, 2005 -- R.A.P. Filmworks is pleased to announce that "Honeybee" is scheduled to have its television premiere on TV One on May 7 at 9:00 pm EDT. "Honeybee" was licensed to TV One by
Urban Entertainment as part of a ten-picture deal with the new African-American cable network.
"Honeybee" is an action/drama about a young black woman who pursues her dream to become a professional female boxing champion. The movie stars Senait Ashenafi ("General Hospital"), James
Avery ("Fresh Prince of Bel Air"), Chrystale Wilson ("The Players' Club"), and newcomer Pierre Perea. "Honeybee" also features appearances by real-life pro female boxers Corinne Van Ryck
("Next Action Star") and Nina Ahlin.
"Honeybee" was directed by Melvin James. The movie was written and produced by Roderick Powell. The movie is an R.A.P. Filmworks production. "Honeybee" is distributed by Urban
Entertainment and Lions Gate Entertainment.
