On August 26, 2005, the name, integrity, talent and abilities of the University of the Philippines and our fellow UP Alumni will shine as it has always shone as the University of the
Philippines Alumni Association in New York co-hosts with Luis Pedron, UP Alumnus and president of FanclubX.com the benefit screening of La Visa Loca - Para sa mga Nalolokang
Mag-Amerika.
La Visa Loca, a satiric movie about the quest of many Filipinos to achieve the great American dream which can only be possible through the highly-elusive US Visa, is executively produced
by Ms. Sharon Cuneta and co-produced by a successful UP Alumnus, Mr. Tony Gloria. Incidentally, this movie is directed by another UP Alumnus, Mark Meily; the same people who brought us
the award-winning Crying Ladies. La Visa Loca stars veteran actors such as: Ricky Davao, Johnny Delgado, Robin Padilla and Ruffa Mae Quinto.
The proceeds of this screening will benefit the UPAA Adopt-A-Scholar project, geared towards giving financial support to deserving UP junior and senior Iskolars ng Bayan, and the Society
of Filipino Archivists (SOFIA), an organization that is engaged in preserving the film heritage of the Philippines.
UP Alumni, families and friends are encouraged to attend this event to meet and greet fellow alumni from different campuses and colleges, and in support of other UP alumni in their
projects geared to help current UP students and culture-preserving oriented group.
The benefit screening of La Visa Loca will be held on Friday, August 26, in the Imaginasian Theater at 239 East 59th St. New York, NY between 2nd and 3rd Avenue at 8:30 in the evening.
Ticket price is $20 which includes the screening and reception. For ticket inquiries, please email Luis Pedron at luisfpintvip @ hotmail.com or Elaine Magalona Dayoan at emagalona @
