S3 Supports OMA BCAST Mobile TV Security With Discretix MultiScheme Client



Discretix, the leading provider of embedded security and content protection solutions for mobile devices and flash memory, and Silicon & Software Systems (S3), the leading global provider of mobile broadcast DTV client software, announced today that Discretix' multi-scheme mobile TV security client is being integrated into S3's onHandTV mobile interactive Digital TV (DTV) client. The joint solution will give mobile device vendors a complete, pre-integrated and fully-validated mobile TV platform, capable of supporting the upcoming launch of TV services and satisfying current and future content protection schemes.

S3's onHandTV client supports the delivery of a wide range of DTV and interactive video/data services. Suitable for networks in Europe, USA and Asia, the product is compliant with all mobile broadcast standards including OMA BCAST, DVB-H, T-DMB and DAB-IP, and is ISO/ANSI-C optimized for the unique ROM, RAM and CPU specifications of embedded platforms.

By adding Discretix' multi-scheme mobile TV security client technology, onHandTV will ensure complete, standard-based service and content protection according to the OMA BCAST Smart Card and DRM profiles, and the DVB-H 18Crypt profile.
