The site uses a combination of the latest digital marketing tools to spread the word about the showcased business. Using Xtranormal software to bring Kylie to life as a Presenter, Animoto is the team behind the photo slideshow feature and Ning provides the popular social networking platform which the site is built upon.
To further spread the word the site is making use of YouTube, Twitter and Flickr. All established new media communication tools.
We are still recruiting for presenters and are holding auditions on 30th November, says Paul Turner, the Eastbourne based Businessman behind One Girl One Ad. It'ss a great opportunity for someone to be the face of the site, a similar site in the US received 30,000 viewers over four days when it started a week ago and has turned their presenter into a mini-celebrity. There was a UK website start-up called Million Dollar Homepage started by a student called Alex Tew, it was a novel marketing idea and generated a lot of worldwide interest at the time.
It is hoped that One Girl One Ad will have a bit more longevity. Interest should be generated with new businesses being featured regularly. In addition members of the site can also contribute through adding their comments or joining a live discussion in the Chat Room.
Businesses pay 's163;75 to be showcased and after appearing on the Home page they remain featured on the site for 12 months. They have the choice of a human presenter to give their 1 minute video introduction or opt for an animated 3D character. It will be interesting to see which they choose, could humans be out of a job! says Paul.
It should prove excellent value for money for the businesses being showcased. There is the potential for their products and services to be viewed by many thousands and perhaps even tens of thousands.
