Coptech Digital Inc., a woman-owned digital/offset printer and CD/DVD/VHS duplicator, is now an affiliate of the CD Recycling Center of America.
Instead of throwing CDs, DVDs, CD-Rs, and DVD-Rs into the trash never to be recycled, which wastes a lot of landfill space, Boston area residents are welcomed to bring their unwanted
discs to Coptech Digital. The on demand printing firm will take care of collecting and transporting the unwanted discs to a plastic recycling center.
"We produce millions of CDs and DVDs every year, and at some point the software or music becomes obsolete and gets thrown away," said Paul Adams, Quality Control Manager of Coptech
Digital. "This is our way to reduce the impact on the environment, and reclaim the materials used in disc manufacturing so they can be made into new discs. Please drop by with your
unassembled discs and we'll take care of the rest. There is no charge for this service."
Coptech Digital is now part of a growing list of CD manufacturers in the New England area who are joining the CD Recycling Center of America program. They hope more manufacturers come on
board. Consumers simply need to disassemble the discs from their packaging before bringing everything to Coptech Digital, which makes the recycling process easier. Coptech Digital is
located at 100 Cummings Park in Woburn, Massachusetts.
