Guitarist BD Lenz Celebrates New Release at Triumph Brewery NJ

May 18, 2005 -- Contemporary jazz guitarist B.D. Lenz and his group have just released their fourth recording entitled "Tomorrow's Too Late" on NY label Apria Records (which has just inked a distribution deal with industry giant Koch Entertainment). This CD marks a professional stepping stone for Lenz who was joined on the recording by music greats Randy Brecker (trumpet) and Mark Egan (bass). The CD was recorded in late 2004 / early 2005 and also features members of Lenz's regular band: Geoff Mattoon (sax), James Rosocha (bass), Tom Cottone (drums), and Joe Mekler (perc.). Lenz, who also teaches Math at Lenape Valley H.S. in Stanhope NJ, showcases 11 compositions that are a melodic mixture of jazz, funk, Latin, and rock, with just a dash of electronica. The New Jersey native says," This recording was the most ambitious yet for us in terms of composition and production and we're really proud of the results."

In support of his latest effort, the guitarist will be hosting a CD Release Party on Saturday, June 4th at Triumph Brewery located at 138 Nassau St. in Princeton, NJ (609-924-7855). Festivities begin at 10:00pm.
