May 17, 2005 -- TELEPHONE! front girl/TC Electropunk recording artist Lolly Pop and former DANDY WARHOLS keyboardist/vocalist Eric Hedford are currently conducting negotiations regarding Hedford's new act Telephone. Pop- who has been operating under the name since 2002- today proposed a music industry first: that the two acts share the name, but use their native area codes to create a distinction.

"There's no need for them to hang up the name so long as separate identities are clearly established." Pop said Monday morning, adding: "I think the worst thing anyone's going to have to go through will occur in Portland, Oregon [Hedford's hometown] on our Fall tour. Being that we've band members in both area codes, we're going to be forced to decide whether to perform as TELEPHONE! (651) or (612)!"

The two Telephones are expected to reach an agreement over band name usage in the coming weeks, in time to unveil their new identities for June, 2005.
