Harsh Krieger to Officially Release Debut Album

May 16, 2005 -- Harsh Krieger, the acclaimed modern rock band from Nashville, will be officially releasing their self-titled debut record with a homecoming show at the Exit/In on Friday, June 4. The show is a gift of sorts for Harsh Krieger's local fan base, who have waited months for the album's release. The band will be co-headlining with Nashville favorites, Luna Halo; who also have a significant industry buzz and a loyal local following. Tickets for the 18 and over show are $8 (which includes a free Harsh Krieger CD), and the show starts at 10 p.m. Harsh Krieger will also be promoting this show on 102.9 "The Buzz" Sunday, May 29 and an in-store performance at Tower Records on June 3.

Fresh from a tour of the west coast, Harsh Krieger has already had about as much success as a band on its own label can have before the official release of a record. The single, "Home," is currently spinning on 290 college radio stations nationwide. "Home" was also included on FMQB's specialty sampler, and charted at 11t on the FMQB Sub Modern Top 25 Singles Chart, 18t on the FMQB Sub Modern Top 25 Albums Chart respectively.

Harsh Krieger had three songs in the XM Radar Report's top 4 in January, and had four songs placed on MTV's "Real World," as well as two songs on MTV's "Road Rules." They kicked off a pre-release tour of the west coast in Palm Springs, California, where "Change" was added to rotation on KMRJ.

After spending most of 2004 recording their debut record, Harsh Krieger spent time testing out the songs by playing select shows and sending the record to national specialty radio. "Harsh Krieger's success at national specialty radio reaffirmed our belief in the record and enabled a strong introduction for their label, Tabula Rasa; which successfully charted its first single and release," stated Georgia McBride, the band's manager.

Picking up industry support and partners along the way, Harsh Krieger grabbed the attention of Gibson guitar after headlining a private event at the Gibson showroom in New York City last August. The band continues to promote its relationship with the musical equipment giant and gave away a Gibson guitar on-air KMRJ in April to promote the album's release.

The Harsh Krieger album is available online at harshkrieger.com and select retailers in Tennessee and California, as well as on iTunes, Rhapsody, Napster and the band's website.

"Harsh Krieger, a fantastic mix of melodic rock and profound pop, wraps well-written lyrics into a unique sound. The end result is a band with latent potential and limitless possibilities."-Drew Kondylas, Specialty Director at FMQB.
