The Band Cigarette Take Their MTV Pimped Van On The Road For West Coast Tour Dates



June 23, 2005 -- California based band Cigarette is hitting the touring circuit featuring their tour van that was "pimped" on the MTV show, Pimp My Ride. The tour will allow fans of the show to see the redesigned van and hear the band's music. The tour also features other touring bands in a 4 state Western tour, billed as the "Back from the Brink Tour", due to all the bands coming together from their various tours all over the country. Since their appearance on the show, Cigarette has received thousands of e-mails from fans requesting to see the band and the van. The redesigned vehicle includes a hot tub, new stereo system, flat screen televisions and vintage-punk-rock-vinyl floor. The tour kicks off on July 7th at The Roxy in Los Angeles for Cigarette's CD Release Party, followed by several Warped Tour dates and runs through July 23rd. The tour will visit cities in CA, OR, NV and ID. The other nationally touring bands on the bill include Livitz Livitz, emaneht, Inspect Her Gadget and various local support bands from each region.

Cigarette is a 4 piece female-fronted pop-rock band based out of Santa Monica California. Started in 2003, the band was the main support for Tsunami Bomb and Go Buddy Go tour in 2004. Their single, "Goodbye to Yesterday" has been featured on college radio and has rotation on Los Angeles stations Indie 103.1 as well as the famed KROQ. Their sound is reminiscent of No Doubt and Blink 182 with throwback influences of the Cars and Blondie. Since their recent appearance on the MTV show Pimp My Ride, the band's fan based has shot up with people from around the country interested in the group.

MTV's Pimp My Ride is a weekly show where the host, rapper Xzibit, finds old or battered vehicles and employees the help of auto body experts West Coast Customs to overhaul the vehicle, often adding extravagant accessories, and present the newly "pimped" auto to the owner. The shows popularity has grown as it enters its fourth season on MTV.
