JairRohm Parker Wells on Anagram Records



Improvising bassist Jair-Rohm Parker Wells will be producing and releasing titles for the Stockholm based Anagram Records. Anagram Records is an exclusive CD and vinyl label for jazz, improvised and classical music. To date, Anagram has released titles by Don Cherry, Mats Gustafsson and Lars Gullin among others. The Parker Wells output for Anagram will focus on freely improvised sessions ranging from solo, duo and trio through to larger ensemble work all featuring Jair-Rohm on the Fichter electric double bass, acoustic bass guitar and Ashbory bass.

Notable on these recordings is the "electronic meets acoustic" aspect. Extensive exploration of real-time electronic manipulation of instruments is a prominent feature of these sessions. Aside from Parker Wells' application of live signal processing on his electric upright bass there are also healthy doses of processed and prepared piano by Ira Mogilevsky and modular synthesizers programmed by the bassist.

American bassist, composer, programmer, conceptualist and record producer Jair-Rohm Parker Wells has been a resident of Stockholm, Sweden since 1985, he is widely recognized as a highly individual voice on the electric bass guitar, Ashbory bass, Fichter electric double bass and acoustic bass guitar, he has also distinguished himself as a programmer and synthesist developing with Max/MSP,Csound and Java. As a record producer and composer he has collaborated with many of the more prominent names in the international art world such as Peter Kihlgrd, Machine Gun, Lydia Grey, Johannes Bergmark, Daniel Carter, Magnus Alexanderson,Tony Bianco, Elliott Sharpe, Olaf Rupp and the legendary Finnish band Kra.
