Andr Rieu Announces North America Concert Tour Violinist and conductor...

The North American Tour: In April of 2009, Andr's233; Rieu and his Johann Strauss Orchestra will begin their North American Tour in Toronto. They will go on to play thirty-five cities across Canada and the United States, completing the tour in June. The tour will be dedicated to Rieu'ss 30th Anniversary on stage. Rieu will perform all the highlights of his 30 year career and the songs that his fans love most.

A violinist, conductor and showman, Rieu has sold more than 30 million albums worldwide. Eleven of his albums have gone gold or platinum and, together with his Johann Strauss Orchestra, he tours on five continents. Every year, 700,000 fans attend an Andr's233; Rieu concert, establishing him as one of the top twenty touring acts in the world. In April 2008, Rieu topped the Australian charts, surpassing the Australian Idol and Madonna for the #1 album. His recent Australian tour saw an audience of more than 260,000 over 11 concerts.

Crowned the King of Waltz by the media, Rieu believes that everyone can enjoy classical music. Following in the footsteps of Johann Strauss himself, he encourages his audiences to get out of their seats and waltz in the aisles.
