Gian Fiero, the prominent senior music reviewer for Muse's Muse.com the leading songwriting resource and community on the Internet, is seeking submissions for his annual Muse's Muse
Awards, which are given in December to honor the outstanding music artists that he reviews throughout the year.
"I created The Muse's Muse Awards to provide additional exposure to the extraordinarily talented music artists who deserve it the most." Gian says. "As my popularity and credibility as an
authority on commercial music grows, so does the value of this award which has been recognized by independent labels, production companies, managers, attorneys, and publicists who are
sending me projects now." The distinction that the Muse's Muse Award carries is one reason that they are motivated to submit them.
Another reason could be that he only reviews CDs (that he refers to as "projects") which he feels are commercially viable from an industry standpoint. In essence, he writes music reviews
that can be used as a filtering device for entertainment professionals who are seeking a trusted and insightful evaluation of quality songs, recordings, and artists, as well as music
lovers who need an honest and accurate description of a "project" or single.
"Thus far, I'm reviewing 5 times as many CDs as I did last year - which amounts to about 5 CDs per month," Gian estimates. "It means a lot to an artist to receive an award that elevates
them above the competition, and it looks good in their press kits also. The Muse's Muse Awards offer that recognition, and with each passing year, the Award will carry more and more clout
because I still don't review 70% of the product that gets sent to me. It has to meet my rigorous commercial criteria and it must be able to compete with today's hits." He continues. "I
have to be selective - especially now that I'm building relationships with music supervisors and doing independent A&R."
Gian is currently in need of Dance and Country submissions.
"The Country genre, which is my favorite, has been relatively slim this year," Gian estimates. "So are submissions from male vocalists in all genres. The competition among the women
vocalists is fierce though. Any submission that I receive now (from a female singer/songwriter) is going to have to be incredible."
Submissions can be sent to:
