Global Music Competition The Worlds First Online MusicCompetition...

Musicians around the world will have the chance to compete for a world tour in a unique new competition organized by social network, Next Top Hit.

Co-founder, Nathan Battle announced today an international, people'ss choice music competition to be conducted entirely online. Musicians from all genres are now able to upload their music to www.nexttophit.com exposing them to a global audience. The most popular artist will be awarded a tailored, 5 nation world tour valued at $200 000.

The competition is our way of giving emerging talent a dream start to their career, said Battle.

We want to encourage musicians from all genres to signup, enter and entertain an international audience that we will provide through our global partners in TV, radio, print and online.

From October 1, visitors to the site will be able to vote for their favourite artists, whilst also being able to sample a wealth of undiscovered music talent from around the world.

Battle says the site is a response to some important changes in the music industry.

With the rise of digital music and the Internet, it'ss now possible for artists to get a much fairer deal for their music. We want to ensure they get more money in their pockets and that they get paid in real time instead of having to wait months for a royalty cheque.

We also want to give artists a way to stand out from the crowd. There'ss so much music available online, it'ss hard to find standout talent. By creating an online venue for all musicians and providing an attractive, career changing prize, we'sre confident we'sll be able to attract many undiscovered stars from around the world and give music lovers a hub to find great music online.

Battle says that Next Top Hit also wants to give artists control over the distribution and marketing of their music.

Although we invest significantly in promoting our winning artists, we allow everyone to retain full control over their music. Too often artists have had to swap control for cash and we absolutely want to leave that behind.
