Have your children ever asked about the world Or does everything they know revolve around eating, toys and TV
In Miss Amy's latest CD, several aspects of our world are presented in ways that kids can wonder, visualize and have fun. And, her interactive concerts also bring to the attention the
diversity that makes up our world.
"There is so much in this world, good and bad, but the good is so plentiful to sing about!" exclaims Miss Amy to a parent after a recent concert in Hopewell, New Jersey. Her previous CD
had songs of empowerment for kids, such as "I Can Do It Myself" and the title track "Underwater". On "Wide Wide World, her latest release, songs such as "Princess Power" and "Unity
Cadence" continue this theme, but are coupled with the title track "Wide Wide World" and "Giants & Dragons" which promote understanding of our world in more than just metaphoric
ways.
With thought provoking lyrics, such as "Just think about visiting the zoo, and if they only had elephants, just think about how boring that would be" Miss Amy strives to broaden the
awareness of kids to the world around them, and to foster tolerance of diversity.
Miss Amy's music has become a staple for many kids, such that parents have commented to her about the repetitions of times it has been played around the house or in the car. "I'm glad
your next CD has finally arrived", sighed one parent, "at least [my kids] are enthusiastic about something other than TV". And, "I'm looking forward to 'Wide Wide World' on endless repeat
loop!" states another parent whose children play Miss Amy's music continuously. "It's almost become a joke, that some parents end-up hearing Miss Amy played non-stop", remarks Miss Amy,
"the depth of the music, at least, prevents parents from going insane, so I've been told".
