Arizona Nanotechnology Cluster and Arizona Optics Industry Association...

May 20, 2005 -- The Arizona Nanotechnology Cluster and the Arizona Optics Industry Association combined forces last week to participate in the recent Nanotechnology/Photonics Conference in Singapore.



Held in conjunction with Semicon/Singapore, the Nanotechnology/Photonics Conference attracts leading Industry and Research personnel from around the world to present new developments, discuss new products and innovations, and network with industry reps. The venue was an ideal location for assisting Arizona businesses in expanding their presence in Southeast Asia, where Singapore is widely recognized as the "Center of Gravity" for the electronics industry.



Bob Breault, founder of Breault Research Organization, Inc., a leading Optics firm, and Co-Chair of AOIO represented the Optics Cluster, and Doug Goodman represented the Nanotechnology Cluster. According to Bob Breault, "I have traveled many times to this area, and found the need for Optics products growing tremendously in recent years. I spent the time visiting with leading educational institutions and companies in Singapore, where I received a very positive reception."



Doug Goodman, CEO of Ridgetop Group and Co-Chair of the Arizona Nanotechnology Cluster, added "I used the opportunity to meet various customers and distributors for our yield-improving Semiconductor IP products in South East Asia. Although I expected some level of interest, I was taken back by the level of enthusiasm in our products. This will mean new business and more jobs for Arizonans".



Both men observed that Arizona businesses have tremendous opportunities for growth in the South East Asian market, where major Electronic and Optics-related firms maintain substantial operations.
