New York, NY May 11, 2006 -- New York's8217;s leading center for holistic education and world culture will host a free evening of sample classes, live music, wine and cheese, on Friday, May 12, 2006. The annual Open House launches the New York Open Center's8217;s Spring/Summer program season and will cover topics from Feng Shui and Aromatherapy, to Reiki and Chinese Herbs for Healing. Best-selling author and intuitive Laura Day, career coach Allie Roth, and Native American scholar Evan Pritchard will be among the presenting teachers. Members of 's8220;Seven and Counting's8221; will provide live music throughout the evening.



The Open House -- at 83 Spring Street -- will run from 6:00-10:00pm. Attendees will have the opportunity to sample programs, meet with the highly-respected faculty, browse the bookstore, and discuss upcoming Open Center workshops, lectures, and performances with programming staff.



Mini-wellness sessions will also be available for $10; Scheduling will be done on-site, on a first come, first served basis.



Additional season launch events continue through May 22 with free introductory evening workshops in yoga, Zen healing, photography, belly dancing and more. Exclusive Open House and Free Intro discounts will be available on-site.

INTRODUCTION TO AROMATHERAPY - Linda Tilton BFA, MSC, is the director of the New York Open Center's8217;s Wellness Department. She is has a private practice in NYC and is the founder of Women Inspiring Women, which offers workshops in well-being, aromatherapy and healing.

**NEW ADDITION** INTRODUCTION TO FENG SHUI - Dr. Edgar Sung received his doctorate degree in Chinese Philosophy. Dr. Sung was a senior student of Professor Lin Yun, foremost feng shui master in the West and developer of the Black Sect Feng Shui Tradition, and is the co-founder of the BTB Feng Shui Masters Training Program with the New York Open Center, as well as in California.



The New York Open Center has been providing lectures, performances, training, tours and more to the metropolitan community since 1984. The Center's8217;s programs -- more than 600 annually -- span the topics of holistic health, psychology and personal growth, sustainable living, spiritual inquiry, ecology and environment, and social and cultural issues.
