FileCatalyst Adds Several New Integration Options



Unlimi-Tech Software, the pioneer in accelerated file transfers, is pleased to announce at the 2009 JavaOne Conference the release of several developer extensions to its FileCatalyst's174; fast file transfer platform. These extensions will enable system integrators and developers to more easily embed FileCatalyst acceleration technology into existing workflows and applications.



FileCatalyst technology is designed to overcome network performance bottlenecks to maximize use of available bandwidth, improving file transfer speeds by as much as 100 times. Being Java based, FileCatalyst technology is cross-platform and can run on any of the major operating systems including Windows, Mac OSX, Linux and Solaris.



The new developer extensions include a Server API that allows developers to programmatically add and modify users as well as collect real-time session information. Also new is a JavaScript API that makes use of LiveConnect technology, giving developers control of the FileCatalyst Java applets from within 3rd party user interfaces.



One of our goals with FileCatalyst is to make the technology as easy to integrate as possible, says Chris Bailey, CEO at Unlimi-Tech. The new extensions will allow developers to add acceleration to existing applications without changing the end user experience.



Turning Point Integration, a UK based integrator and reseller of FileCatalyst technology, has recently made use of the new FileCatalyst extensions for integration with Xinet, a Digital Asset Management Solution also offered by the company.



File transfers within Xinet Digital Asset Management system were cumbersome and susceptible to network impairments, especially when transferring files overseas, said Steve Emerson, President at Turning Point Integration in the UK.
