Gala to Honor Joe and Sue Paterno for a 'sLifetime of Achievement's at New York'ss Mandarin Oriental Hotel April 29, 2009

On April 29, 2009 a galaxy of stars from the world of business, sports, medicine and nonprofits will gather at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City to honor Joe and Sue Paterno'ss life-long devotion to helping others in the community and through personal charities, as well as their well-known commitment to Penn State University.

Philadelphia, Pa. April 29, 2009 -- On April 29, 2009 a galaxy of stars from the world of business, sports, medicine and nonprofits will gather at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in New York City to honor Joe and Sue Paterno'ss life-long devotion to helping others in the community and through personal charities, as well as their well-known commitment to Penn State University.

    

Hosted by the Charcot-Marie-Tooth Association, the Second Annual Honor a Star. Be a Star. Gala will feature a special guest celebrity MC, as well as a moving tribute to the Paternos.

Proceeds from the event benefit the CMTA'ss Strategy to Accelerate Research (STAR's8482;), an unprecedented collaboration of top researchers from around the world that has been created to develop new treatments for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disorder (CMT), and a cure within ten years. Coach Paterno has served as national spokesperson for the CMTA over the past several years.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. with a VIP reception with Joe and Sue Paterno.
