Ball State University Bans Sales Comic Book

May 4, 2005 -- Dan Seidman of SalesAutopsy.com was shocked to receive an invitation to speak at Ball State University - as long as his Sales Comic Book was not mentioned or sold at the school.

The school's Miller College of Business runs a yearly sales symposium of top sales thinkers and Dan Seidman was selected as one of four for the April 25, 2005 event.

Seidman is recognized for his hilarious collection of 500+ sales horror stories and was recognized as one of the top 12 sales trainers in America by the authors of Ultimate Selling Power.

"I was surprised that an academic institution would ban any book today. It's a comic book! Two of the stories have some bizarre behavior depicted; one has a dog "marking his territory" (pooping) next to a sales rep on a call. The other has a bum relieving himself next to a high-class hotel when a sales manager is pitching a potential wedding party."

"With liberal standards pervading American schools and libraries, much of what students read today would have been considered X-rated when I, and the Ball State professors, were in school," said Dan. "I was not offered a fair reason for keeping The Sales Comic Book off the campus."

The school did allow the sales of Seidman's book, The Death of 20th Century Selling and he did show a clip of his video game, Revenge of the Reps.
