Modavox (OTC:MDVX), Internet broadcasting pioneer, producing and syndicating online audio and video, today announced that Dr. Marlene Siersema will feature as her guest Randy Thomas, America'ss premiere female voice announcer and author on her talk radio program Amazing Women: Brains, Beauty 's38; Style, airing at 2 PM Pacific Time on Wednesday, March 11, 2009 on the VoiceAmerica Talk Radio Network'ss Variety Channel.
Randy Thomas can be heard daily as the voice of CBS Television Distribution'ss Entertainment Tonight and The Insider, two of the most watched entertainment programs in the world. Thomas
is the first woman to announce the Academy Awards, the Tony Awards, the Screen Actors Guild Awards and the Miss America Pageant. She has served as the announcer for the Academy Awards
seven times and is the first person ever to announce The Oscars, The Tonys and The Emmys -- all in the same year.
Thomas made history as the first female announcer for the 2004 Democratic National Convention and the final night of the 2008 Democratic National Convention when Barack Obama accepted the
Presidential nomination.
Randy'ss compelling and likeable voice is constantly in demand and can be heard on many radio and television stations across the country, as well as national cable networks as a narrator
and spokeswoman. She is also well known as the voice of Hooked on Phonics, memorably intoning the line Call 1-800-ABCDEFG.
Thomas has been winning accolades and opening doors for female voice artists for 15 years. She began her career studying acting at HB Studios in New York City and with Adam Hill in Los
Angeles. With more than 20 years of experience as a radio personality in New York, Los Angeles, Detroit, and Miami, Thomas has gone on to achieve her dreams as a freelance voice-over
artist, recognizable television personality, and now author.
Randy recently completed her first book VOICE FOR HIRE: Launch and Maintain a Lucrative Career in Voice-Overs (Watson-Guptill Publications, a division of Random House Inc.) She
collaborated with top New York voice coach Peter Rofe. The foreword is written by her friend and mentor, the godfather of the voice-over industry, the late Don La Fontaine.
