Laugh Factory Announces Celebrity Bill Of Rights

In the wake of Brad Garrett'ss recent confrontation with unruly paparazzi, Laugh Factory owner Jamie Masada is taking serious actions to put an end to what he calls, vicious and intrusive attacks of stalkers with cameras.

Masada'ss immediate response will be to take all available legal action against anyone harassing his comedians outside the Laugh Factory. Mr. Masada has noted that often some disorderly paparazzi instigate confrontations by shouting derogatory and insulting comments, and/or relentlessly tormenting the stars. Mr. Masada has noted that such individuals will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. He will also be hiring additional security whose sole purpose will be to protect the celebrities from the paparazzi.

It is harmful to the comedians to arrive at the Laugh Factory only to be shamelessly antagonized by a bunch of leeches whose only motive is to incite an embarrassing incident for profit, says Masada. This affects their performances and is not fair to the audience. This has to be stopped. This is not journalism. This is persecution and it continues to get worse.

Mr. Masada'ss most ambitious action will be to propose a bill to the Los Angeles City Council requiring that paparazzi have licenses and press passes, and emphasizing that if anybody intentionally provokes a celebrity - whether physically or verbally, there will be severe legal ramifications.

It must become a crime, and as with any crime there must be punishment, Masada insisted.

Mr. Masada calls upon all businesses to join him in his fight against the intrusive and often obstructive paparazzi. He understands that many establishments feel it may be beneficial for their businesses to have their names in the paper, however, he asks all business owners to join him in this endeavor to stop risking the dignity, integrity and safety of celebrities.
