Take Heart Kicks off an Indian Summer with its Annual Fundraising Ball

On 26th June, the UK's8217;s only entirely student run international charitable organization 's8211; Take Heart India will host its annual ball at London's8217;s Kensington Roof Gardens. Last year's8217;s event, which was held at hip nightclub Modiva was covered by Tatler and attracted a myriad of socialites and celebrities, including pop star Tyler James, the Krug family, members of the England polo team and son of the PM Nick Blair. Due to attract a further 200 guests, this year's8217;s ball will be even bigger and better, with headline acts including amongst others Robbie Craig (The Artful Dodger) and the Chelsea Set's8217;s favourite artist of the moment, Winter Roberts.

Take Heart India's8217;s director Count Lucian Tarnowski said 's8216;this year guests attending our annual fundraising ball are in for a musical night to remember - with acts spanning a rich diversity of musical styles, from soul with Robbie Craig to jazz from the Anna Higgs Jazz Quintet, to salsa with hot Spanish act Solenca. We are also bringing a bit of Bollywood to London and have Bollywood Grooves performing a 's8216;dance off's8217;, which should add to the exotic feel of the evening. We are delighted to be hosting the event at the Kensington Roof Gardens and hope for a warm summer evening - to create an 's8216;Indian Summer's8217; in the heart of London's8217;.

Take Heart India has taken music to the heart of its organization and is working with the groundbreaking music-led fair trade music label Worldwide Aid Recordings (W.A.R). In 2007 W.A.R are traveling to India to record the orchestra at Anandwan, the world's8217;s largest leprosarium and centre for those with disabilities. Founded by India's8217;s most prolific social worker, Baba Amte, who Ghandi dubbed 's8216;Conqueror of Fear's8217; and credited as being one of India's8217;s greatest Humanitarians, Anandwan provides training and education to every individual that walks through its doors. Further details of the Take Heart India and W.A.R partnership will be announced during the ball and at a press conference scheduled for July 2006.
