Guardian Angels For Soldiers Pet Expands Availability of Pet Foster Home Program with Affiliated State Chapters
Guardian Angels For Soldier'ss Pet (based in Arkansas) today announced it has expanded the availability of their program service by approving affiliated Guardian Angels For Soldier'ss Pet Minnesota Chapter 32 and Guardian Angels For Soldier'ss Pet Mississippi Chapter 20.
Guardian Angels For Soldier'ss Pet, an all volunteer 501 (c) (3) nonprofit public charity organization was incorporated/founded in the state of Arkansas January 2005 by Carole Olmedo and Linda Spurlin-Dominik. The organization'ss primary mission/purpose was to locate, interview, and monitor foster homes for Arkansas military service members being deployed and unable to find a temporary home for their beloved pet or pets without having to relinquish their pet ownership or just abandon them. Currently Guardian Angels For Soldier'ss Pet has pets owned by deployed military service members from the states of Texas and Indiana fostered in Arkansas, has assisted a soldier located in Fort Bragg to find a foster home in North Carolina, and is working with 2 Arkansas National Guard service members to foster their pets while they are deployed.
Due to the requests from military service members based in other states looking for someone to care for their pet/pets while deployed, people offering to open their home to one of these pets while their owner was deployed, and inquiries on forming a GASP chapter, the 2005 board of officers/directors voted to pursue and encourage formation of GASP affiliated chapters.
In late May, Guardian Angels For Soldier'ss Pet (based in Arkansas) received requests to form affiliated chapters from Sally White in Burnsville, MN and Stephanie Atkins-Arnett in Starkville, MS. Due to the outstanding efforts and endeavors, Linda said the necessary agreements and documentation required for us to approve and recognize their organizations as affiliated chapters has been completed. In addition, Linda stated, the Group Exemption Letter to the IRS for approval and recognition as a central (National) organization with affiliated (subordinate) organizations under our 501 (c) (3) tax exemption status was filed on June 30, 2006.
For questions, interest in opening your home as foster home caregiver, volunteering to help, forming a chapter in your state/area or make a donation, please visit their website or by phone at (501) 760-3875.
