The Wellness Community will hold informational meetings open to the public on January 15 and 29, so that those who are interested in participating or have questions can meet with coaches and other Strides for Hope representatives.
"This is an opportunity for people who have never walked a mile, as well as veteran marathoners, to join in a hugely fun event and be coached by professionals to achieve their personal best," said Gaumer.
The Wellness Community provides free support, education and hope to cancer patients and their loved ones. "We serve over 1,400 people annually," noted Executive Director, Jim Bouquin. "This year we are expecting the largest participation ever for our Strides event."
Participants will include corporate teams as well as families, individuals, couch potatoes who want a good reason to get outside and get in shape, and past participants.
"Everyone has fun," said Bouquin, "And the whole community benefits from the services The Wellness Community provides."
