Ed Schafer, United States Secretary of Agriculture, presented the award to Single Volunteers Boston on Wednesday, April 30th at the Greater Boston Food Bank. The award was presented because Single Volunteers Boston has provided over 5200 hours of volunteer labor to the food bank over the past 5 years. "We are proud to accept this award on behalf of the thousands of volunteers that have given their time in the hope of ending hunger in Greater Boston" says Robert Tamulis, President of Single Volunteers Boston. "Their service should be an example to all of us".
