Broken Political System Drives Local Executive into NonProfit
May 3, 2005 -- Scott Borduin, Chief Technology Officer and vice president at Autodesk Inc has stepped down to assume a position as executive director and Chief Operating Officer of Restoring Integrity, Inc. He co-founded Restoring Integrity shortly after the 2004 elections with Cay Borduin and Mick Mortlock.
According to Borduin, "when 77% of Americans believe that the government should do whatever it takes to protect the environment, and the US boycotts the environmental protection treaty, the system is broken. When 63% of Americans say they support affirmative action programs, but the government files suit to block them, the system is broken." Borduin indicated that he wants to work both at the executive level and the grassroots level to restore integrity to our government.
At Autodesk, the world's leading developer of computer aided design software, Borduin was responsible for providing the technical vision and strategy for the future. At Restoring Integrity, he will also be responsible for the non-profit's day-to-day operation. Prior to Autodesk, Borduin co-founded Woodbourne, a successful computer-aided-design company. Borduin holds a Bachelor of Science and a Masters of Science in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan.
