The Language House Establishes a New Location in Northern Italy Starting in Spring 2009



Founded in 2004, The Language House started in Montpellier, France, as a provider of a TESOL program (Teachers of English to Students of Other Languages) a one month program that allows its graduates to teach English and travel abroad. Upon completion of the course successful candidates receive a TESOL certificate and find English teaching positions abroad. As demand for this type of training has increased, The Language House opened a second location in Marrakesh, Morocco, in winter 2007.

The TESOL certificate course is designed to teach native or near native English speakers how to teach English to students of other languages. Along with the certificate, clients of this program receive job assistance in finding English teaching jobs in France, Morocco, Italy and their neighboring Mediterranean countries. With this certificate, course participants can travel anywhere in the world by teaching English.

Along with training people with little or no teaching experience how to teach English to students of other languages, The Language House also provides language instruction including French, Spanish, Italian and Arabic as well as specialty travel tours to France, Italy and Morocco.

Gyl Johnson, Regional Director, now sets her sights on Northern Italy. It'ss an excellent region to operate a course as the demand for English has increased dramatically, says Johnson. Not to mention the fact that Northern Italy offers pristine natural beauty as well as a rich culture specific to the region.

Genoa is a principal seaport rich in art and architecture. Located along the Italian Riviera, this city has enjoyed flourishing trade and commercial exchange due in part to a grand scale urban restoration project giving new life to the city. It'ss a wonderful city to spend time while taking the course not only because of its cultural richness but also its proximity to beautiful villages such as Portofino, Cinque Terre and Santa Margarita along the coast, Johnson adds. And from a practical standpoint, it'ss easy to find English teaching jobs in, not only Genoa, but Milan, Turin and the rest of Northern Italy as well.
