The contributions generated through SCV's Affinity4 partnership will be instrumental in helping the organization fund its ongoing programs at the local, state and national levels offering members a wide range of activities. Among the programs and services provided by SCV are: monthly meetings with historic programs at approximately 860 local camps in cities and towns around the country, preservation work on monuments and at cemeteries, marking Confederate soldiers' graves, and scholarly publications. Some SCV members also participate in historical re-enactments of battles. The SCV holds an annual Reunion/convention each summer to conduct organization business, to recognize the efforts of its volunteers and to listen to True Confederate History presentations. State level SCV organizations, known as Divisions, also hold annual conventions and publish newsletters available to their members.
SCV members receive a bi-monthly national history oriented magazine, the Confederate Veteran. Both male and female descendants of Confederate soldiers may apply for a limited number of one time grants, given each year, to help finance their higher education expenses through the General Stand Watie Scholarship program. The SCV also has the Clifton T. Brooks Fund which provides grants for Medical Research performed at accredited U S medical schools by descendants of Confederate soldiers.
