The World Federation is to Hold Street Collection in London on 2nd January 2006 to Raise Desperately Needed Funds for South Asia Earthquake Victims

Many charities are beginning to leave the areas affected by the earthquake that hit South Asia in October 2005 but The World Federation (Registered Charity in UK No. 282303) will be staying there throughout the harsh winter. To this end, many youth volunteers have teamed up and organised the street collection that is to be held on Monday 2nd January 2006.

The World Federation is a federation of communities around the world. So whenever there is an emergency, a response is mounted immediately by the local agencies, with guidance from London. While our teams of Doctors and medical personnel have returned to Karachi after having set up field hospitals in Kashmir, our relief workers are still on the ground, helping replenish food and medical stocks for winter.

The 250 volunteers will have permission to collect at over 30 tube stations and 10 railway stations across London throughout the day. The money raised will be used to replenish food and medicine supplies during the winter months.
