IMA Hero Teddy Bears Begin Support Our Troops Campaign to Help Raise Money for the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund
Beginning March 1, 2006, the IMA Hero Teddy Bears are helping raise money for injured U.S military personnel by donating 40% of all sales to the Fallen Heroes Fund. IMA Hero Teddy Bears decided to participate in this financial effort as a way of supporting one of their co-creators who is currently in the military and serving on active duty. "This is our way of supporting both our co-creator and all the military personnel in need of continued assistance in their lives," said the owner of IMA Hero's8482; Teddy Bears.
The IMA Hero Teddy Bears are designed to introduce children to heroic people in history and begin a discussion of what makes a hero. There is no better example of heroic attitudes today than watching our military men and women face their struggles both on the battlefield and in the rehabilitation centers.
The Fallen Heroes Fund is a non profit organization which is constructing a world-class state-of-the-art advanced training skills facility at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. The center will serve military personnel who have been catastrophically disabled in operations in Iraq and Afghanistan.
The center will encompass a 60,000 square foot structure, providing ample space and facilities for the rehabilitation needs of the patients and their caregivers. It includes $35 million in top of the line indoor and outdoor facilities.
To date more than 20,000 men and women have been wounded our current military operations. According to U.S. Senate research, the amputation rate has doubled from previous wars. Today 6% of those injured have amputations compared with 3% in previous wars. This new facility in San Antonio is being built without government funds.
Bill White, President of the Fallen Heroes Fund said, "100% of your donation goes directly to building this vitally-needed rehabilitation center. We refuse to take any administrative costs from the funds contributed."
