Orthodogs' Silver Lining Foundation (OSLF) announces "Celebrate the Seniors," this year's theme for the 3rd Annual "Celebration of Life" fundraiser. Dog lovers everywhere are invited to join the celebration honoring their past and present dog companions - this year with a special outreach to those who know the love of a "gray muzzle" senior dog. All donations to the 501(c)3 non-profit provide last chance funding for service, rescue and companion dogs in desperate need of orthopedic surgery.
The 2008 "Celebrate the Seniors" online fundraiser invites donors to leave personal tributes about a beloved canine companion, purchase a limited edition T-shirt and view a memorial video
spotlighting some of the seniors and other dog companions from OSLF. All participating donors will be sent a 2008 Commemorative "Celebrate the Seniors" gift magnet.
OSLF's annual Celebration of Life was started as a positive way to honor the many dogs that touch OSLF, the generous donors and the grant recipients. "Donations are given in the name of
the beloved companions we have and those that we've lost," Wendy Stevens, one of the three founders of OSLF, explains. "What better way to celebrate our wonderful companions than helping
another dog get the life-changing operation it needs."
This year's "Celebrate the Seniors" theme was inspired by Jesse, the beloved longtime companion of Brenda Osbourne, OSLF co-founder. The Osbourne family adopted Jesse at six weeks and
lost her recently just three months shy of her 17th birthday. An OSLF tribute page to Jesse (http://www.oslf.org/col2008.htm) describes the
experience of sharing an entire lifetime with a dog. "When had time crept up on us, stealthily transforming our once black-as-coal puppy into this majestic dog with her face as white as
snow." Osbourne writes. "We watched Jesse grow and grow old over all those years and I wouldn't trade one day of our life with Jesse for anything in the world."Jesse's puppy-to-senior dog

Orthodogs' Silver Lining Foundation (http://www.oslf.org) is an all-volunteer, internet-based 501(c)3 non-profit. All proceeds are used to support last
chance funding for service, rescue and companion dogs in desperate need of orthopedic surgery. OSLF just celebrated its 3rd year anniversary. In 2007, OSLF helped 45 dogs and pledged over
$39,000 in funding assistance.
