Award Winning SFArtsED Summer Camp Returns To School Of The Arts Miraloma...

SFArtsED Summer Camp celebrates its 14th year with a return to the School of the Arts this summer. Artistic Director Emily Keeler says, We are delighted that our campers will be able to study and showcase their work in a setting that is specifically devoted to fostering the arts and creative voices of young people. The award winning camp voted Best Cure for the Summertime Blues by San Francisco Magazine, will offer six weeks of sessions devoted to the performing arts, music, literary, and visual arts. Mentored by a faculty of distinguished artists, middle school children ages 9-14 will take the stage, exhibit their artwork and share their prose and poetry at the culmination of each session. Among new session offerings this year are Vocal and Dance intensives and a Cabaret Showcase.SFArtsED has added a World Rhythms/Percussion session and will feature new sessions focusing on Green (Environmental) Art and Folk Art Traditions. The camp will continue to offer its signature sessions in Musical Theater, Fashion Design, Painting and Drawing, Cartooning and Creative Writing. SFArtsED is San Francisco'ss premier arts provider, active in the city'ss arts community for over forty years.

Participation in the SFArtsED Summer Camp has traditionally been an entry point for children wishing to join the SFArtsED Players children'ss musical theater company. The camp is also attended by youth who are interested in preparing auditions and portfolios for entry into the School of the Arts High School in visual and performing arts. While offering a challenging and stimulating environment for young artists, the sessions are also fun for kids at any level of experience or expertise.

In addition to the camp at School of the Arts, SFArtsED also offers a camp devoted to arts exploration for children ages 6-9 at the nearby Miraloma Elementary School.
