National Center for American Indian Enterprise Development Receives...



January 24, 2005 -- The National Center is the premiere management-consulting firm in Indian Country today. This year marks its 35th anniversary in bringing quality services to Tribes and Indian entrepreneur. The organization has six offices strategically placed near Indian populations to meet consulting needs. It is estimated that the National Center has assisted 80% of the tribes in the lower 48 states since its inception. The assistance has been comprised of training, planning, and consulting service. Since 1972, the National Center has helped more than 25,000 Indian enterprises and obtained over $1 billion in financing and contracts. During this time, the National Center has trained over 9,000 tribal members.



"We're extremely excited about getting this grant from The UPS Foundation," said NCAIED CEO Ken Robbins. "It will allow us to leverage additional funding so that we can get Native Edge operational for our clients."



Established in 1951 and based in Atlanta, GA., The UPS Foundation identifies specific areas where its support clearly impacts social issues. In support of this strategic approach, The UPS Foundation has identified literacy, hunger, and volunteerism as its focus areas.



In 2003, The UPS Foundation distributed nearly $40 million worldwide through grants that benefit organizations such as the National Center and provide support for building stronger communities.
