A dozen Scientology Volunteer Ministers (http://www.volunteerministers.org) from the Church of Scientology of Seattle answered the distress call of an 80-year-old farmer from Maltby, Washington, this winter, when unprecedented rain and flooding left much of his 40-acre farm under six to eight feet of water. With trees felled by heavy winds and equipment mired in mud, the octogenarian had no hope of digging himself out.
The Scientology volunteers completed a massive clean-up, making it possible for the farmer to get back to work.
Washington Scientologists are active in protecting and preserving the environment, and the Church has sponsored a Scientology Environmental Task Force for over a decade, to serve these
purposes.
