Folsom, CA June 20, 2008 -- Community supporters from around the Greater Sacramento-Area joined in a day of golf at Folsom's Empire Ranch Golf Course on June 6, 2008 to support Stanford Home for Children, Sacramento's leading provider of connecting at-risk kids with safe family. As part of Chip in fore Charity's regional one-day event that raises approximately $1 million for Northern California children's agencies, Stanford Home's golf tournament successfully raised awareness and funds to help support the 1,800 children and families it cares for each year.

Chip in fore Charity was established by Sacramento-Area developer Chris Steele in 1998 and is the region's largest single-day fundraising event. Six golf courses each donate their courses and staff time and 100% of the proceeds raised solely benefit children in the community.

Sponsored by AT & T, United Agencies, Wells Fargo, and about one dozen hole sponsors, the event's festivities were kicked off two days earlier on June 4, 2008 with a reception to honor two of the State's greatest advocates for foster youth, incoming Senate President pro Tem Darrell Steinberg and Speaker of the Assembly Karen Bass.

"The generous sponsor support and continued vigilance in the Legislature to protect our state's most vulnerable young people together make a direct impact on Stanford Home's ability to connect and strengthen families by keeping kids out of long-term group homes and revolving door foster care," said Keith Diederich, Stanford Home's Executive Director.

Adding to the event's excitement, golfer Sam Samms of Quest, hit a hole in one, winning him a four day vacation to the destination of his choice.

The hole sponsors participating in the event were Aaron Read & Associates, CBS Radio, Eagle Ridge Construction, HMH Builders, Inc., KPMG, Mainline Information System, Natoma Technology, ProKarma, Inc., Quest, Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation, and Western Health Advantage -- each generously supporting the 1,800 kids and families served by Stanford Home.

Abiding by the proven model that the best place for a child is with safe, caring family, Stanford Home connects kids and family members through tailored solutions to fit each family's situation.
