The Shandon Anderson Foundation Officially Announces Third Annual Leave...

Join NBA legend, Shandon Anderson, as he celebrates his foundation during the Labor Day holiday.

Who: The Shandon Anderson Foundation

What: Leave Your Mark! Labor Day Weekend

Where: All across Atlanta, from Centennial Park to Lake Lanier (reference our website for more detail)

When: September 1st - 4th

Why: A charity weekend raising money for the Shandon Anderson Teen Center and current programming.

It is but all to often that a person attributes their current status to their upbringing, a high school teacher that took the time to care, a football coach that implemented life lessons into practice, a dance instructor that said dreams can be reality if one wants it bad enough. The Shandon Anderson Foundation realizes that the key to unlocking a person's truest potential occurs in their youth. Join the Shandon Anderson Foundation as they present their annual Leave Your Mark! Labor Day Weekend, September 1, 2005 - September 4, 2005.

It is labor day, the grill is set for the annual Que, the lounge chairs are pulled out, and the coolers are filled with below zero blocks of ice. In the midst of leisure and relaxation, the city will be abuzz with activity that will outlast any traditional sunny side celebration. The Shandon Anderson Foundation has partnered with the city's leading schools, businesses, athletic organizations and venues and is challenging everyone to Leave their Mark! this Labor Day Weekend.

The foundation is based on the premise that occurrences experienced in one's youth directly affect their outcome. "We are stepping into their lives, when they are the most impressionable and filled with untainted hope and potential - Making a mark starts with belief; belief in one's self and the belief in the ability to make a difference. It is my goal to provide our youth not only with experience and exposure but to be a conduit that strengthens their self- belief." ,stated foundation founder Shandon Anderson of the Miami Heat. People nationwide have not only noticed the efforts of the Anderson Foundation but have gotten involved hands on. Through the efforts of the foundation and supporting sponsors, over 1500 kids have been helped throughout the city of Atlanta. Celebrating the impact of the Y generation, the Shandon Anderson foundation has organized a series of events inspired by global appreciation, that are guaranteed to enlighten, encourage, and inspire Atlanta's youth and the surrounding community while raising funds for programming and Atlanta's fist teen-only center.
