USA Prepare (www.usaprepare.com), a division of MC Strategies, Inc., based in Atlanta, Georgia, announced recently the launch of their new training
curricula, BORDERS Alert and Ready (www.bordersalertandready.com). The courses were developed by the University of North Dakota School of
Medicine and Health Sciences and are powered by the USA Prepare Knowledge Deployment System®. This offering provides hospital-based emergency departments and allied-health first
responders with an interactive, multidisciplinary, web-based training program that allows medical personnel to train any time from any location that has an Internet connection.
One of the consequences of recent natural disasters and acts of terrorism has been a heightened awareness of the need for improved training of hospital-based personnel to be better able
to respond to these disasters. Further compounding this challenge is the fact that these catastrophes have very diverse causes, including natural, chemical, biological, explosive or
nuclear, each requiring a separate set of knowledge and skills.
's8220;By combining the technology and training of USA Prepare with the medical expertise of the University of North Dakota School of Medicine and Health Sciences, we can offer relevant
training information in a way that fits within busy emergency personnel's8217;s chaotic schedules,'s8221; explained Tim Boone, Managing Director of USA Prepare. 's8220;The content was
developed by practicing healthcare clinicians and other professionals with expertise in germ laboratories and is delivered by time-tested technology. The courses are self-paced and
utilize audio, video, illustrations, graphics, and other media that can be delivered online. This is a great way to augment or replace lecture-based training with materials that are
self-paced, repeatable and allow for review and additional explanation.'s8221;
