RES-Q's174; Healthcare Systems announced that it will demonstrate the new Employee Desktop for its enterprise staffing and scheduling system at the 2009 HIMSS Annual Conference 's38; Exhibition.
WHO: RES-Q's174; Healthcare Systems, Inc. Since 1979, RES-Q (www.res-q.com) has pursued one mission: advancing healthcare resource management software.
Hospital executives count on RES-Q software to deliver measurable results: faster and more efficient scheduling, consistency in the application of scheduling rules, reduced use of
overtime and agency staffing, optimized staffing for higher productivity, balanced workloads, and improved employee satisfaction and retention.
WHAT: The new Employee Desktop for RES-Q's174; Labor Resource Management, RES-Q'ss system for enterprise staffing and scheduling. The new interface simplifies the desktop by eliminating a
long menu list and replacing it with an interactive calendar that displays the employee'ss schedule plus icons for three basic tasks: My Personnel Record (accessing the employee'ss own
personnel records), View Open Shifts (accessing their unit'ss overall schedule with staffed and open shifts), and Schedule Requests (a three-click process for submitting schedule requests
to unit managers).
WHEN: April 5-8, 2009.
WHERE: Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) Annual Conference 's38; Exhibition, McCormick Place, Chicago, IL. RES-Q will be located at booth #6205.
WHY: As hospitals using RES-Q implement self-scheduling, employees need a simple desktop to support the process. When a self-scheduling employee logs onto RES-Q, they now immediately see
a personalized, streamlined desktop with their name at the top.
With the nationwide nursing shortage and competition for other skilled health professionals, hospitals face difficult workforce management challenges. They need innovative solutions to
improve morale and boost retention rates. Employee Self-Scheduling, an optional module in RES-Q's174; Labor Resource Management, enables hospitals to respond by empowering nurses and
other employees with greater control over their work schedules. Employees can quickly view their department'ss schedules and click on the shifts they want to request. If an employee is
scheduled for a shift that they would like a colleague to work for them, they right-click on that cell in their schedule grid. A shift pick-up request is automatically e-mailed to all
employees in the department. Employees can also look for open shifts that need to be filled and simply click on the shift to send a work request to their manager. The department manager
signs on to the management view in the module to review and approve requests and finalize schedules. E-mail messages are then automatically formatted and sent to employees's work and home
e-mail addresses with their schedules.
