Exprodat announces that it will be running its 2 day 'sApplied ArcGIS Techniques for E's38;P's training course in the week of the European Petroleum User Group in Stavanger, Norway, on the 15th and 16th September 2009, with a special discounted rate available for conference attendees. The course introduces participants to ArcGIS functionality and the spatial workflows used within typical E's38;P activities, and allows participants to explore the potential benefits in applying Geographic Information Systems (GIS) to their E's38;P workflows.
Course participants will be introduced to fundamental functionality that allows geoscientists to import spatial and non-spatial data into the ArcGIS Desktop, integrate, manage and analyse
data to produce information for decision-making. Although petroleum exploration and production (E's38;P) sector knowledge is not required, this course is tailored toward assisting
participants in implementing E's38;P workflows geospatially. The intended audience of the course comprises geoscience professionals and support staff who need to learn the fundamentals of
GIS while understanding its further potential. Further details of the course are available at http://bit.ly/Dh6fe.
Chris Skelly, Exprodat'ss Training Manager, says, With this year'ss Euro PUG being in Stavanger (http://www.geodata.no/Nyheter/ESRI-European-Petroleum-User-Group-Meeting/) we thought it would be an
excellent idea to run our basic 'sApplied Techniques's course providing a 15% discount for folk registered at the conference. As Exprodat will have a stand at the conference, it provides
participants with an excellent opportunity to follow up their introductory course with any questions they may have with our staff on-hand to answer questions throughout. We look forward
to seeing you in Stavanger, please drop by our stand to discuss your GIS training needs.
Exprodat'ss introductory 'sApplied ArcGIS Techniques for E's38;P's course was the first of its kind in the oil and gas sector, and Exprodat has built on its success by developing an
entire training programme focused on applying ArcGIS technology to exploration and production workflows. The programme is based on Exprodat'ss broad experience of the applications of GIS
within the petroleum sector, gained through working on many projects with clients. Classes available include how to apply GIS techniques to common E's38;P workflows like acreage analysis,
play fairway analysis, environmental assessment, gridding and geostatistics, terrain modeling and satellite image analysis. A full list of available classes and a course schedule is
available at http://bit.ly/AxP9r
