emBoot Offers New Linux Implementation Option for its iSCSI SAN Boot...

emBoot Inc., an industry pioneer in delivering network boot capabilities, today announced the general availability of the Linux iSCSI Boot Server option for its centrally managed SAN Boot solution, winBoot/i and netBoot/i. With this release customers now have the option to host the central iSCSI Boot Services that provide boot services to netBoot/i and winBoot/i clients on Red Hat Enterprise Linux, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server, OpenSUSE, or OpenSolaris.

emBoot's SAN Boot Solution, netBoot/i and winBoot/i, provides a centrally managed iSCSI boot solution using standard Ethernet network adapters that allows customers to accelerate server deployment and repurposing, reduce lifecycle operating costs, reduce power and cooling requirements, improve system resiliency and availability and implement more robust disaster recovery solutions.

"Our customers and partners have clearly stated their need to be able to host our central boot service component on a Linux-based platform" said George Kostiuk, CEO of emBoot Inc. "With the release of the Linux iSCSI Boot Server option our customers and partners now have more flexibility in deploying our centrally managed iSCSI boot solution in a variety of operating environments. This includes iSCSI target vendors with Linux-based platforms interested in tightly integrating our iSCSI boot solution as part of their SAN solution."

About the Linux iSCSI Boot Server Option:
