Athenas ASEPCOS Dual Interface Smart Card Achieves Common Criteria...

Athena Smartcard Solutions, a leading developer of smart cards for Digital ID, announced today that the Athena ASEPCOS Dual Interface, contact-contactless Digital Signature smart card received the French Government Common Criteria EAL4+ certification for SSCD Type 2 and 3, providing the highest level of security required by government and large enterprise projects and digital signature according to the European directives.

The Common Criteria certification awarded by the French Government Central Information Systems Security Division (DCSSI) (http://www.ssi.gouv.fr/fr/confiance/certificats/certificat2008_22.html) validates the secure design of Athena'ss smart card products and bring additional Athena smart card technology to the Government arena.

The Athena ASEPCOS Digital Signature smart card provides 72KB of available memory for digital signature and authentication certificates and keys and additional user data. The new Dual Interface ASEPCOS card supports ISO 7816 contact and ISO 14443 Type B contactless interfaces and match-on-card fingerprint biometrics. The Athena ASEPCOS Digital Signature card is an ideal platform for Government and Enterprise ID which requires Common Criteria certification. In addition, the ASEPCOS Dual Interface card supports contactless applications such as physical access control, transportation and loyalty applications.
