Penguin Computing's174;, experts in high performance computing (HPC) solutions, announced today a new family of Altus's8482; Series products based on the AMD Opteron processor code-named Istanbul. Penguin has now added the Altus 1701 and Altus 2701 dual-processor enterprise servers, the Altus 1702 twin-node HPC cluster server and the Altus 2704 quad processor enterprise server to its Altus product line. Penguin'ss new servers feature AMD'ss six-core Opteron 2400 and 8400 series processors. This new generation of Altus servers delivers outstanding performance, scalability, and energy efficiency leading to an outstanding return on your investment.
These new Penguin Altus servers are available immediately. Penguin'ss new Altus servers provide 50 percent more processor cores compared to previous Altus models, as well as increased
memory and I/O bandwidth, due to the HyperTransport Assist feature. Similar to other Penguin Computing servers, the new Altus 1701, Altus 1702, Altus 2701 and Altus 2704 servers provide
management and serviceability features to support large HPC cluster deployments and mission critical enterprise applications. Penguin Computing also provides these new Altus servers in
integrated, Application Ready's8482; clusters configured with single or twin-node Altus servers, high performance interconnect fabrics, including InfiniBand and 10 Gigabit Ethernet, and
managed by Penguin'ss Scyld ClusterWare cluster management software suite.
