Microfacs Inc Announces Major Capacity Expansion



Microfacs, Inc. of Minneapolis, Minnesota announced that it has made major increases in its internal capacity to support customer demand for scanning microfilm, microfiche and paper documents to a digital format. Specifically Microfacs has added a third shift, bring them to a 24 hour 7 day per week operation and has added various scanning equipment, including a KIP Large Format Scanner and 4 Sunrise Microfilm Production Scanners. The most recent demand is due to several large contracts with insurance companies, local governments and title companies. They all involve scanning and indexing documents to digital format.

"Many industries have started the arduous process of converting all of their old or archived documents into electronic data." Said Rick Romens, President of Microfacs Inc. "In particular local government agencies and insurance companies are realizing the benefits and necessity of document conversion to electronic formats."
