The American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the national professional membership and body for CPAs has adopted the RuleSafe policy awareness system developed by London-based company Secoda Risk Management.
Secoda's policy and compliance solution RuleSafe enables organizations to rapidly create and deploy a framework for communicating internal policies, standards and procedures to employees
and then verify that those individuals have read, understood and accepted their compliance responsibilities under those policies.
The AICPA has 650 employees working across five main US locations including; New Jersey, New York, North Carolina (Durham), Washington, D.C, Texas (Lewisville).
RuleSafe's latest version adds a comprehensive quiz function that allows risk managers and policy stakeholders to create and deploy multiple-choice online questionnaires in minutes, and
then track employees' and the overall organizations' levels of understanding of the published policies.
Ranabir Dey, Director of IT Operations commented;
"Our decision to choose RuleSafe was influenced by the detailed training and support we received in both the pre and post-sales stages of our policy awareness program; together with the
flexibility of the product that we can adapt to fit our corporate culture as the organization grows and develops."
"The AICPA's leadership role as a monitoring and standards-setting body requires us to set the highest standards for ourselves when it comes to our own internal compliance management, and
as a professional body we instinctively know that effective communication of organizational policies is the cornerstone of any risk management program."
"RuleSafe enables us to both maintain and track our employee awareness and understanding of our policies, and where appropriate, use its reporting dashboard to monitor our ongoing
improvement across the organization."
"We are delighted to welcome such a respected institution as the AICPA to our growing customer base," commented Adrian Wright - Secoda's Managing Director. "The AICPA's decision to use
RuleSafe to help manage their in-house awareness and compliance clearly demonstrates the global relevance of the RuleSafe architecture and technology to overcoming the common problems and
growing complexity we all face today."
The sale of RuleSafe to AICPA replaces an earlier solution supplied by competitor Pentasafe (now NetIQ).
According to Secoda, recent global rises in workplace errors resulting in widespread breaches of personal information and fines are almost entirely due to lack of user training and
awareness, or a failure to ensure that employees understand and accept their individual responsibilities for managing the organizations' risks. By making specific policies and procedures
relevant to specific roles and situations, RuleSafe reduces and simplifies the awareness process for each employee, and uses the latest technologies to bring people and processes together
to manage compliance and risk.
Looking ahead, Secoda is preparing to expand its North American presence with a number of further sales and a US support partnership to be announced later this year.
