Brayton Purcell Adds the Legal Experience of Robert Bokelman to theFirms...

Brayton Purcell, an asbestos and personal injury law firm, is pleased to announce that Robert Bokelman (http://www.braytonlaw.com/aboutus/robertbokelman.htm) has joined the firm as Of Counsel. Mr. Bokelman will add his knowledge and expertise of asbestos litigation (http://www.braytonlaw.com/choosing/choosing-an-asbestos-attorney.htm), professional negligence, products liability and personal injury law to extend the firm'ss legal resources.

Mr. Bokelman obtained his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) in 1972 from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law in San Francisco, California. He graduated in the top 11% of his class. Admitted to practice in California, he is a certified specialist in trial law, personal injury, product liability and professional negligence. He is also admitted to practice in the U.S. District Court, the Northern and Eastern Districts of California, and the Southern District of Texas; and, the U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit.

Mr. Bokelman has been active in the San Francisco Trial Lawyers Association where he served on the Board of Directors, the Education Committee, Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee and Kaiser Liaison Committee. He is also a member of the Consumer Attorneys of California and the American Association for Justice (formerly the Association of Trial Lawyers of America (ATLA)). In ATLA, he served on the Birth Trauma Litigation Group, the Executive Committee and the Board of Directors.

During his career as a trial attorney, Mr. Bokelman has won verdicts and settlements throughout California. In 1989, he was appointed to the Plaintiffs's Steering Committee for Coordinated Blood Bank Litigation by San Francisco Superior Court Judge Daniel Hanlon. The litigation concerned 26 AIDs cases associated with blood transfusions which were pending in the San Francisco court at that time. Mr. Bokelman has achieved settlements and verdicts in excess of $1,000,000 in more than 40 cases, including one of the Top 100 Jury Verdicts nation-wide in 2007 as a member of the trial team for plaintiff in Provenza v Lemans Corporation ($50,952,092) and in 2008 a $16,789,835 plaintiffs's verdict in Tuolumne County, Dorroh v Warren.

He has also taught classes related to various aspects of the law at the University of California and continuing education courses for the State Bar of California as well as for other schools and professional organizations.
