EMG Partners with A.D.A.M. Inc. for LLUMCs Online Health Library



Loma Linda University Medical Center's (LLUMC) recently launched online Health Library is already a tremendous success, receiving positive feedback from website lomalindahealth.org's visitors including patients, staff and the community. Utilizing innovative strategies and technologies implemented by Earthbound Media Group (EMG) and high-quality health content from A.D.A.M., Inc., a leading provider of consumer healthcare information, the LLUMC Health Library has not only proven to be a comprehensive, go-to online health information resource, it has also earned the coveted "user-friendly" label by being conveniently accessible at any point during a lomalindahealth.org visitor's experience with the click of the Health Library global navigation button.



"Since the launch of the Health Library, both patients and staff have responded very well to the rollout of the A.D.A.M. content," explained Jon Farjo, EMG's Lead Internet Strategist. "We see through web analytics and other user behavior tracking mechanisms that consumers are thrilled with the site's dynamic new features."



A.D.A.M.'s award-winning health content provides expert and up-to-date health information and interactive tools that empower LLUMC patients and staff to easily research specific information and gather resources. In the Health Library's A-Z encyclopedia alone, users can search more than 3,600 individual articles and 4,000 full-color illustrations and diagrams providing information on diseases and conditions, medical tests and procedures as well as nutrition and drug information. The Health Library even offers various interactive tools for website users to use to learn more about their health condition or calculate various health related information such as their body mass index (BMI) and is available in a Spanish-language version.



Featuring intuitive navigation, a customized user interface including suggested "Next Steps" a user can take after reading the health content and an effective promotional strategy, LLUMC's Health Library is the successful outcome of EMG's inaugural partnership with A.D.A.M., Inc. After identifying that relevant health-related content was a primary need for the lomalindahelath.org audience through web analytics, focus groups and user testing, EMG recommended placing the Health Library at the center of client LLUMC's web strategy for its new site, lomalindahealth.org. And the highly relevant and up-to-date health content provided by A.D.A.M. efficiently fulfilled the project's strategic needs.



"Because of the successful partnership between EMG and A.D.A.M., LLUMC is better equipped to realize its mission to serve its community while removing the potential barriers to health information that previously existed," said Farjo. "And, over the next couple of months, EMG will take part in using traditional and online campaigns to heavily promote the Health Library and its use of A.D.A.M. health content."



Also behind the LLUMC A.D.A.M. content deployment are a number of other third-party applications implemented and customized by EMG as part of its enterprise technology solution configuration. These technologies include Interwoven's enterprise content management system TeamSite, the Health Library search application powered by a Google Mini search appliance, a comprehensive web analytics suite leveraging products from Google Analytics and Omniture SiteCatalyst as well as user recommendation technology Baynote which generates relevant content guides based on aggregate user behavior.



As users continue to actively engage in LLUMC's online Health Library, EMG will continue its analysis and optimization of this and other lomalindahealth.org features in collaboration with client LLUMC and technology partners including healthcare content partner A.D.A.M., Inc. Currently, planned optimization and promotional efforts include Health Library-specific search engine marketing campaigns and other search-related tactics.
