Spirit Journeys announces their latest journey to Egypt. Scheduled to start May 8 and run to May 22, 2010, this is 15 day, 14 night adventure into the Wonders of Egypt. This journey is designed to let participants go behind the scenes and discover the real Egypt.
This gay travel (http://www.spiritjourneys.com) adventure is scheduled in early May to take advantage of the reduced number of tourists and
still comfortable temperatures. The reduced number of tourists will add greatly to the overall experience of Egypt and her people.
Spirit Journeys has also made special arrangements to be allowed private access into many of Egypt'ss wonders. The opportunities to go into the King'ss Chamber inside the Great Pyramid
and to stand between the paws of the Sphinx are just two things that Spirit Journeys has arranged. Both of these opportunities have been off limits to the general public for many years.
The adventure begins just outside of Cairo, on the Giza Plateau at the historic Menna House Hotel. Situated within sight and walking distance of the Great Pyramid and the Sphinx, the
Menna house was built in 1869. It has played host to kings and emperors, Heads of State and celebrities. This is the perfect place to begin to dive below the surface of Egypt.
The first full day in Egypt starts with an exclusive sunrise visit to the Sphinx, a time when participants will be the only people there. In the afternoon, the group will visit Saqqara to
view the dozens of Old Kingdom pyramids on the west bank near ancient Memphis. The day ends with a sunset camel ride in the desert with incredible views of the pyramids in the distance.
A few days into the journey, participants move to a four night river boat cruise on the Nile. Spirit Journeys has chosen the Sonesta Line for their river cruise. Sonesta offers some of
the finest river boats that cruise the Nile. The cruise starts in Aswan and ends in Luxor. Along the way, shore excursion stops are made at various temples and private time in some
temples is made available to the participants.
After two full days in Luxor, participants will fly back to Cairo and the Menna House. They then get time to explore the Cairo Museum and the world famous Kahn El Khalili Bazaar. The last
day of the journey, is the private visit to the King'ss Chamber inside the Great Pyramid. This is a spectacular way to end a pilgrimage through Egypt.
